My Lake District Year
Another year is nearly over, and so a good time to do a round up of the year.
JANUARY brought heavy snow at the end of the month.
This Herdwick was happy chewing some straw and contemplating the snowy world around.
FEBRUARY and more snow.
With snow on the tops the Lake District looked beautiful.
MARCH and Spring appeared in the form of snowdrops.
A visit to Ashness Bridge, showed snow still on the tops.
But the evenings were getting longer.
APRIL and Winter was finally leaving.
Colour was springing up all around.
Liked this idea outside Grasmere Gingerbread shop.
MAY
Blue sky at last.
JUNE and it was starting to look as though we might actually have a summer.
It was possible to have events outside and be fairly confident about the weather.
JULY a proper summer at last.
Day after day of sunshine. Perfect.
AUGUST
A stunning day for Grasmere Sports
SEPTEMBER still nice weather, which was just as well for this bunch at Mintfest in Kendal.
Great year for Foxgloves.
OCTOBER warm and mellow as it should be.
some great seed heads about.
NOVEMBER nights drawing in but some nice clear days.
DECEMBER probably payment for a nice Summer but it seems to have rained non stop this month. No worry about snow for Christmas guests arriving but worry about floods and high winds.
We have had the odd stunning day in amongst the rain.
Another year nearly gone. Thanks for reading my blog this year. Have a Happy and Heathy 2014.
